Katherine Clarke Langlands unabashedly identifies as a female contemporary American artist, a practicing Buddhist, a warrior for justice, and a visual storyteller. Her work has captivated viewers and buyers from the pavements, high-end galleries, and internationally respected art fairs of Los Angeles, Miami, and Brooklyn to the craggy coastline of Block Island and the verdant hills of Vermont, where she was born, raised, and currently resides.
The daughter of snowboarding pioneers, Katherine grew up immersed in the snowboard and skateboard culture of the 90's and that sensibility often informs her gritty, relevant murals and vibrant, dynamic paintings and sculptures.
Katherine is currently a graduate student working on her Master of Fine Arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a studio resident at the Vermont Studio Center.
